Troutbeck Unveils New River Cottages Along the Webutuck River
AMENIA, N.Y. — Troutbeck, the historic Hudson Valley estate and hotel, has opened a new collection of standalone River Cottages, expanding its lodging options with four newly built cabins set within a private enclave overlooking a meadow and the gently curving Webutuck River.
The collection comprises two one-bedroom and two two-bedroom cottages, which together can accommodate up to twelve adults when booked as a group. Elevated slightly above the surrounding landscape of native wildflowers, trees, and shrubs, the cottages feature tall windows and expansive porches framing westerly views across the estate.
Inside, the design carries the understated, residential style for which Troutbeck is known. Each cottage includes handmade four-post king-sized beds by Ian Ingersoll of Cornwall, Connecticut, ceramic lamps by Dumais Made of Bantam, Connecticut, and natural wood accents throughout. Soft seating faces a tiled gas fireplace, a dining table doubles as a writing desk, and a screened sliding door opens onto a private covered porch. Textile work by Thompson Street Studio, founded by artist Kiva Motnyk, appears in each unit.
The two-bedroom cottages offer 785 square feet of interior space plus 180-square-foot porches. Amenities include radiant heated bathroom floors, soaking tubs, Wildsmith bath products, and Frette linens. An ADA-accessible cottage is available.
Guests staying in the cottages also have access to Troutbeck's broader offerings, including The Barns wellness facility, a seasonal pool, daily wellness classes, and the estate's year-round arts and cultural programming. Troutbeck is located at 515 Leedsville Road in Amenia. Reservations are available by phone or through their website.
