WASSAIC, N.Y. — The Wassaic Project will once again take part in Upstate Art Weekend this year, transforming the small Harlem Valley hamlet into a hub of exhibitions, workshops, and performances on Saturday, June 27.

Admission is free and the [day's programming](https://www.wassaicproject.org/events/2026-upstate-art-weekend-at-the-wassaic-project?ref=the-amenia-sun.ghost.io), which runs from noon to 9 p.m., is open to all ages. The organization's galleries will remain open throughout the broader June 25–29 weekend, joining sites across the region participating in the annual celebration of upstate New York's art scene.

The Saturday lineup spreads across several venues in and around Wassaic. At Maxon Mills, visitors can tour the current exhibition [*Because, now is the time of monsters*](https://www.wassaicproject.org/exhibitions/because-now-is-the-time-of-monsters?ref=the-amenia-sun.ghost.io), drop in on [Art Nest](https://www.wassaicproject.org/education/art-nest?ref=the-amenia-sun.ghost.io) family activities, and join hands-on workshops including a landscape painting session with Genevieve Lowe and a cyanotype workshop led by Tamsen Wojtanowski. An afternoon series of artist talks will feature Samuelle Green, Margaret Jacobs, Amir Khadar, and Vanessa Villarreal, followed by Ace Lehner's installation and performance, *Barbershop: The Art of Queer Failure*.

Nearby, the Luther Barn will host open studios with the Project's July artists-in-residence and an evening of film screenings by Michael Litwak, Christopher May, and Daniel Carello. At The Garage on Main Street, Danielle Klebes's *Wassaic Motorcycle and Paint Club* installation will be on view, while [*Delano Dunn: Echoes in the Margin*](https://www.wassaicproject.org/events/opening-reception-delano-dunn-echoes-in-the-margin?ref=the-amenia-sun.ghost.io), curated by Mickalene Thomas, runs throughout the weekend at nearby Troutbeck.
